The Social Media Manager (SMM) is the creator and administrator for all of the social media projects that Lorem Ipsum is producing both internally for our corporate brand as well as those of our clients. As the voice and face of the communities, the SMM works closely and collaboratively with the team, our clients, and others to offer social expertise and guidance to create and execute programs.

The SMM is responsible for enhancing and supporting existing social programs as well as building and nurturing social communities from scratch ones that drive engagement with its members by amplifying brand awareness, influencing and steering member discussions, mitigating brand damage, growing the number of followers and keeping the communities productive for all members.

The SMM will generate original timely content, and moderate influencer and user generated content for at least 2 brand accounts. The SMM is also responsible for the day-to-day posting of content, and therefore needs to be organized proactively managing the content creation and approval process so that content is posted on schedule. Depending on the specific account, the SMM must be able to translate complex topics into relatable content with approachable content.

Responsibilities (for all brand accounts and internal Lorem Ipsum Corp. social media efforts):

  • Collaborate with team and client to create strategies that enhance, promote, and align the community experience with brand objectives
  • Conduct Social Media Audits to better connect brands with consumers and prospects, informing, messaging and listening in equal measure
  • Decide what KPIs to track in line with campaign requirements alongside the audit findings and discuss with team


  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Proficient in all aspects of social strategy and community creation and management
  • Proficient in social listening tools: Google Alerts and Analytics, Facebook Insights, Iconosquare, Keyword Tool and Google Trends and others as required
  • Deep understanding of popular social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others as required
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with project/task management tools such as Basecamp and Asana
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
