This position is exposed to every production that MSGE produces such as the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes (CS) and the Rockettes branding initiatives, as well as co-promoted productions such as our family shows, any potential new productions, concerts and attractions. The position sets up and executes press events, independently reaches out to the press for on-site coverage, pitches features and exposure, independently manages press at events throughout the year such as concerts and family shows, and works with the department on CS to brainstorm ideas for the PR Plan. The Public Relations Coordinator functions as the lead on select family shows at our portfolio of venues, including having responsibility for the creation and execution of the PR plan, and oversees the entire process. The coordinator works closely with the lead on each project to coordinate the logistics surrounding the CS by preparing PR materials, sending out alerts, and arranging travel and production support for PR events in the markets. The coordinator also works closely with the team to support the Live division including pitching exclusive artist content, managing trade interviews and localizing concert releases for NY and Chicago. The coordinator will also manage tactic reports and maintain measurable metrics against PR campaigns and secured media for various projects. Coordinator assists with publicity efforts around venue tours including the new MSG All Access Tour. The Public Relations Coordinator helps to support Garden of Dreams Foundation (GDF) initiatives by pitching stories surrounding fundraising and programming events and working with the GDF team to execute interviews and shoots. The position ensures that all departmental functions such as invoicing, media contact lists, calendars, and concert/event announcements are sent on time and kept up to date. Position manages on-site coordination for any concert or event rentals that are booked through MSG Entertainment. Position also works with the Manager to oversee the Student Associate program, including hiring, teaching and instructing the Student Associates each semesterSpecific Functions/Activities Summary* Acts as the lead PR contact on one or more of the family shows that MSGE either produces exclusively or co-promotes with outside entities. The Coordinator creates the local PR plan, pitches interviews, creates and executes PR events and obtains local and, potentially national, coverage for the brand in an effort to drive local ticket sales.* Pitches, coordinates and covers media interviews, feature stories and appearances about Rockettes and CS, solely interacting with media and show personnel. Writes and distributes press releases, media alerts and artwork for various show related events. Acts as the liaison with show-related sponsors and marketing team to promote the show through coordinated sponsor-related events.* Responsible for execution of internal and external day-to-day PR activities for CS, including PR plan execution, related publicity event creation, production and supervision, i.e. Animal Load-in and Rockette rehearsals.* Active member of MSGE media training team that officially media trains Rockettes in New York and MSGE Executives for media interviews they will conduct to promote CS, Rockette Experience and Concerts/Events, including choosing Rockettes and maintaining evaluations in a timely manner.* Manages all onsite press and organizes the PR related flow of rental events such as the Tony's, Dog Show, and concerts, which involves managing red carpet activity; interacting independently with national press; and arranging interviews and photo opportunities in high stress, high profile situations.* Works with GDF on initiatives and opportunities that utilize CS and the Rockettes in events for children in crisis.* Responsible for the on-going public relations strategy development and execution of GDF and MSGE programs to ensure visibility for charity and its impact.* Represents MSGE PR in production/planning meetings for CS.* Responsible for internal gateway and invoicing for all MSGE produced and co-promoted shows and related events, including CS, concerts and Family Shows.* Manage tactic reports and maintain measurable metrics against PR campaigns and secured media for various projects.Qualifications* 1-3 years PR experience preferred, including internships* Knowledge of entertainment environment and comfortable working with talent and senior level executives* Experience in writing press releases and pitch letters and some experience in executing PR plans* High level of energy, commitment and creativity* Excellent Verbal and Written Communications skills* Good Time Management, Organizational and Multi-tasking* Stress toleranceEducationCandidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
